Return to Turner Mtn.

This past weekend was another phenomenally beautiful Fall weather in Iowa... the kind we all want to bottle up and save for those below zero days, don't ya know! So we headed back to Turner Mountain for another family get-together, near Elliott, Iowa, where Jim and his siblings grew up. (pictured above and below). And because it sits on a very big hill, you can see why we call it Turner Mountain!

Nick's family is still visiting and Philip and his family also came up. Although we missed seeing Phil's family as they headed back home early to be with Becky's side of the family for a funeral. We were so sorry to hear that two of her cousins were involved in a tragic car accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with Becky and her family.
While we gals pitched in to help get dinner ready. Addi pushed up a chair to help me get some deviled eggs filled.

Addi wasn't so crazy about the eggs... but this banana sure made her smile!

The roast not quite ready, all went outside to bask in the sun and enjoy time outside again today...

Aunt Julie (Tim's wife) and Trevor (Nick's oldest boy) play a game of kick the football.
Trevor has quite to form, don't ch'ya think?

Marge, Tim's wife's Mother, was also out to spend some quality time on Turner Mountain. She and Addi had a fabulous time out on the porch driving the kiddy-car!

Even Tim and Julie's Dog, Max, couldn't believe how nice it was today!

We of course were treated once again to the wonderful world of Judy's home cooking... this time a roast with all the trimmings!

Larry shows off his expert carving skills with the steaming roast.

After dinner we relax and visit awhile... Tyler seems pretty content in his swinging chair.
As Tyler watches, Kim and Jim take a stab at the puzzle table... Jim tells me this was a popular past-time in the Turner household when he was growing up. Big shocker for those of you who know me well, but I have never had the patience for this type of game.

And before we knew it, it was time to head back down the road for home... Thanks, again, Turner Family, for another wonderfully fun family affair! WE LOVE YA!! :)

Great pics! The puzzle never did get finished. I boxed it up after Addison took a 'swing' at it... a swing at the entire right half... (tear). So instead of reconstructing hours of work, I shoved it all back in the box. *sigh* oh well.
