More signs of Fall

Turner's Wild Kingdom: More Signs of Fall
One of the best signs of Fall are all the fresh fruits ripening right now! We're so lucky to have generous neighbors like The Martins who share their apple and pear harvest with us! Kay brought these to me yesterday and BOY are they sweet and delicious! SOOOO much better than anything you can get at the store! Only thing is, Kay says, the deer and other critters like them too! THANKS KAY!

Then there's always the last cutting of hay we rush to get in before the first frost... and last week we wondered if it we'd make it. This last cutting wasn't going to be enough to small bale, so we let Steve Cochran big bale it for his cattle.

Jim loading them up on the trailer for him one evening.

The trees in the timber are already changing color and dropping leaves... and the sky was so bright and blue with white puffy clouds, just couldn't resist taking a few horsey shots!

The flower gardens are feeding more than just the birds these days... this garden spider looks like she's had a good summer!

And the tree frogs are fattening up too, for a long winters nap... here this tiny green guy is patiently waiting to grab a wasp sandwich! Can you see them?

And the deer are already turning winter gray. The spots on the fawns are starting to fade too. These are Mia's twins. The don't stay with her much anymore.... crazy wild kids that they are!

Here Mom and her twins are taking a midevening snooze in the hay field in front of the house. You can see how dark the doe is, but the babies are still red.

Enjoy looking for your signs of Fall!! :)
