Turner's Wild Kingdom

Is it a handsome prince? Anyone want to kiss him and find out?!!
Jim was mowing some tall grass today, as we finally had some sunshine! It's more like swam land out here with all this rain! And look what he brought back! This is for you Trevor and Victoria!! :)
CJ taking a closer look.

A closeup for Trevor!

This is Mia, our resident doe. She was shot 2 hunting seasons ago in the shoulder. You can see how she limps a little, but she really has adapted quite well. Last year she had twins. This year it looks like just one, which is just fine with us!

We've also had a family of birds in our loafing shed in the back pasture. They are called Phoebes feebee. (Thanks Kay Martin!). These chicks flew the coop last week.

And what's become of the fox you ask? Well, the last two times I've seen them (yep, now there are two!) was in the back pasture, and of course I didn't have my camera. I heard this thrashing in the grass and low and behold here comes a fox jumping from the timber through the fence, coming right at me and the horses. I stood behind Charmer and just watched... it kept coming toward me! (and I kept saying under my breath.. darn it, darn it, always when I'm without my camera!) It finally stopped a few feet away and just sat in the grass a while before turning and running back into the timber. So I walked the horses up to the shed and then a second one comes out! - this one ran the other way though and as I stood perfectly still by the fence, it waltzed right out of the grass and right past me as it walked down our neighbor's lane. (again, under my breath...only louder: DARN IT! DARN IT! Why didn't I have my camera??!!)
