With the trees done yesterday, Jim took off for to officiate a football scrimmage in Iowa city for the Squawkeyes and I headed to a baby shower. Our great friends, Rick and Sue Parrino's son, Mathew and his girlfriend Autumn are expecting a baby. It will be their first grandchild, (a baby boy) so everyone is really excited!
The shower had a brown monkey theme. This was a diaper cake - isn't it cute?

Sue, with her infinite wisdom and great taste, had this cake made by my dear friend, Gloria Olson, baker/decorator extraordinaire, of Glorious Desserts. (think this is cute, her wedding cakes are truly works of art) All the gals at the party commented, again and again, how scrumptious it was! A dense chocolate with chocolate chips top with a super moist, almond flavored lower tier had many going back for seconds!! She even hand made that little guy on top! A fitting end to a wonderful get-together. Congratulations Matt and Autumn!!
