In March we were shocked to learn a company called West Wolf Developers had decided they wanted to turn our back woods into a lake and surround us with 5,000 private lots. Well, the fight that ensued put our faith back into the saying "Power of the People"!We attended all their meetings, held neighborhood meetings of our own, called the TV and radio stations, talked to newspaper reporters, started petitions, wrote letters, and even made and sold t-shirts and hast to raise money for lawyers fees should it go that far.

Within 30 days, the developer buckled under the pressure and withdrew his plans... well, at least that's what they said. Since then they have not removed their website and we remain vigilant. The following links and pictures document the work all of us did, calling ourselves the Friends of the Raccoon River Valley.
