Arena Sprinklers Nov 08
I'm pretty darn lucky to have a husband that can "do it all". He had a darn good teacher growing up in his Dad, Larry. So I put that knowledge to good use with the "honey do" list around the Turner Ranch & Resort (as our dear friend, Victoria, likes to call it!).
This month he's been redoing the riding arena's sprinkler system. Since we installed them 5 years ago, the rust in our water and the fact most sprinklers are designed for watering grass not arenas, have us frequently trying new systems. Why a sprinkler inside a barn, you ask? Well this is where I ride the horses everyday... unless it's super nice outside, which in Iowa, isn't really very often! HA!! So it's pretty much every day. The sand in the arena gets dry and dusty, so we keep it wet to prevent my asthma attacks and to keep the horse's lungs clear as well. Horses in general don't tolerate dust very well either.
So here Jim is placing the last bit of the last new line of pipe and sprinkler heads in. This new set is like the systems used in greenhouses that spray out a fine quiet mist of rain... it's really really nice!
