Thanksgiving Nov 08

Well what a full day we had today! Larry and Judy, Jim's folks, flew to Las Vegas this year to spend some time with Elizabeth and her family who live in Alaska. Her two boys were in a hockey turnament there and it's not very often they get to see them, so we all understood when they said (apologizing profusely) that they would not be hosting Thanksgiving dinner this for the Turner clan.
Jim playing with Levi - a game of ride'm cowboy!! Jim's got those goofy faces downpat!

While we were disappointed of course, as it's been our 18 year tradition, we had several offers of which attend Thanksgiving... it was deciding who's invitation to accept, that was very hard this year! We first made a trip to Deb's, Julie's sister, living in Des Moines. Today was her son Levi's 4th birthday as well, so it would be a birthday party as well. Phyllis was also there. So we played games and then had a very tasty lunch before zooming back home to prepare food for our second Thanksgiving dinner of the day.

Here is Levi while eating his birthday pie (pumpkin...mmmm!) and telling us he is now FOUR!

We've been asked for several years to be guests for Thanksgiving dinner at our very dear friends the Parrinos. This year we were so excited to graciously accept!! The food was superb and as always, the fun we had afterward was hysterical! We played "wii" and a couple of board games. Jim had super tired arms the next day after playing himself in a game of baseball on wee! What a hoot!
After dinner at Parrino's, we sat down to a game of Trivial Pursuit!
And here Jim plays a game of golf on "wii" with Matthew. I watched this one, but I played a game of "bowling" later on.

Thanks Deb/Hans and the Parrinos for a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!!
