Since last hunting season we've had the pleasure of frequent visits from an injured doe we call Mia. (Mia is "survivor" in Hawaiian). Mia was shot in the right shoulder last year. We saw her dragging her front leg and at one time I asked if we shouldn't put her out of her misery. Jim said we'd keep an eye on her for awhile... well, not only did she survive, jumping our pasture fences and running "like a deer"... she had twins this spring.
She often comes up to the house and eats out of the flower boxes. Here she is nibbling on our crab apple tree.
